Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, abbreviated as SCMM, is an annual international marathon held in Mumbai, India, on the third Sunday of January every year. It is the largest marathon in Asia as well as the largest mass participation sporting event on the continent. It is the richest race in India with a prize pool of USD $350,000. SCMM has six different race categories: marathon (26.218 miles (42.194 km)), half marathon (21.097 km), Dream Run (6 km), Senior Citizens Race (4.3 km), Champions with Disability category (2.4 km) and DHL Corporate Champions (42.195 km, 4-person relay). Moments Shoot's Photo Tour to "Tadoba" Wild Life Safari - The Jewel of Vidharba on 24-25-26 Apr 2015 Tadoba TATR stands for Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve since it was included in the Project Tiger Program in the year. TATR is created by amalgamating Tadoba National Park & Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The total area under the Project Tiger is 1727.6 sq.km with core area being 625. 82 sq.km and the rest 1101.78 sq.km constitute the buffer zone. The core area concept denotes critical tiger habitat which is subject to intense conservation measures with human intervention being minimal. The lifeline of the park are the Andhari River, Erai Dam, Kolsa Lake, Junoria Lake and the Tadoba Lake. The river and water storage systems provide year long supply for fresh water to this amazing ecosystem. Yogi Hills Yogi Hills is situated in Mulund west. Time to reach at top is around 45-60 mins (varies person to person). During monsoon season one can see many waterfalls. CST Station Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, formerly Victoria Terminus, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic railway station which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways in Mumbai, India. Designed by Frederick William Stevens with influences from Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and Indian (Mughal and Hindu) traditional buildings, the station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Bombay to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station was built on the location of the Bori Bunder Station and is the busiest railway station in India,serving as both a terminal for long distance trains and commuter trains of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. Padale Gaon Padala gaon is located in Dombivali on kalyan Shilphata road. It is  is a relatively unknown place to a lot of people.  But it is easily accessible for both Mumbaikars as well as out of towners.  If you go by local train, Dombivali is the nearest local train station from which you can easily get a bus to take you to the Padale gaon. Black Kites seem to favour Padale Gaon. Sanjay Gandhi National Park Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), previously Borivali National Park, is a large protected area in the northern part of suburban Mumbai city in Maharashtra State in India. It encompasses an area of 104 km2 (40 sq mi) and is surrounded on three sides by India's most populous city. It is notable as one of the major national parks existing within a metropolis limit and is one of the most visited parks in the world. The rich flora and fauna of Sanjay Gandhi National Park attracts more than 2 million visitors every year. Kanheri Caves The Kanheri Caves constitute a group of rock-cut monuments that are located north of Borivali on the western outskirts of Mumbai, India. Located within the forests of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the caves are 6 km from the main gate and 7 km from Borivali Station. Elephanta Caves he Elephanta Caves (180 56’ 20” N; 720 55’ 50” E), taluka Uran, district Raigad is located on island hills about 11 km north-east of the Apollo Bandar, Mumbai and 7 km from the shore of the mainland, approximately covering an area of 7 km in circumference. The island is named after a colossal elephant found in the island, which is popularly known as ‘Gharapuri’. At present, the statue of elephant is housed at Jijamata Garden in Mumbai. In ancient period, the place is variously identified as Puri which is mentioned in the Aihole inscription of Pulakesin II. It seems, different dynasties held their sway over this island, namely, the Konkan-Mauryas, Trikutakas, Chalukyas of Badami, Silaharas, Rashtrakutas, Kalyani Chalukyas, Yadavas of Deogiri, Muslim rulers of Ahmedabad and then by the Portuguese. Durgadi Fort Durgadi is a derived from union of two Marathi words Durga (A Hindu Goddess) and Gaad (Which means 'Fort' in Marathi language). Durgadi Fort is Kalyan city's most adored historical monument, a sacred worshiping place and even a recreation spot for many Kalyankars. Durgadi Fort also called as Durgadi Killa was constructed during Shivaji's Era in honour of hindu deity Mata Durga. Shivaji Maharaj captured Kalyan and Bhiwandi from Adilshah on 24th October 1654. He built a fort near the creek as a support to Kalyan and used it as a dock to manufacture ships. It is said that wealth was found during excavation for the fort foundation. Since it was due Goddess Durga’s blessings, the fort was named “Durgadi”. There were 340 Portuguese workers employed to build the fort. Durgadi was captured by Moghul Sardar Hasan Ali Khan in 1682.
