It is built on donated land on a peninsula between Gorai creek and the Arabian Sea. The pagoda is to serve as a monument of peace and harmony. The Global Vipassana Pagoda has been built out of gratitude to the Buddha, his teaching and the community of monks practicing his teaching. Its traditional Burmese design is an expression of gratitude towards the country of Myanmar for preserving the practice of Vipassana. Yeoor is a location in Thane district in Maharashtra, India that lies in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It is known for its panthers and wildlife. Yeoor Hills (or also known as Mama Bhanja Hills) is a hill station of Thanaites. This naturally beautiful and pollution free area attracts lot of people. The most powerful king of this dynasty, Chittaraja, began the construction of this temple and his younger brother Mummuni, who became a feudatory of the famous Chalukya kings of Kalyani, completed it in 1060 AD. Historical records of the temple prove that this is the oldest existing temple built in the Bhumija style of architecture. Silahara kings were traditionally Shaivites – but the sculptures prove that they accepted other paths to spiritualism as well. Gudi Padwa  Gudi Padwa, which marks the beginning of the new year for Maharashtrians, was celebrated with much pomp and fanfare in the city on Monday. Men and women dressed in saffron turbans and navvari (nine-yard ) saris danced to the beats of the lezim , dhol and cymbals, while the streets were decorated with colourful rangolis. Gudi Padwa, also known as Ugadi, is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu month of Chaitra, which, according to the Gregorian calendar would fall sometime at the end of March and the beginning of April.
