Thane's one of the best botanical gardens. Started on 25th Dec 2011.
Dattaji Salvi udyan is the place where you will find many different varieties of flowers, plants, butterflies, insects. The garden will also be beneficial for students in their studies. The forest department has also taken a great initiative to plant exotic plants and shrubs so that interested people can gain some knowledge about botanical plants and shrubs. The garden, spread across 4600 sq mt area, boasts of some exotic trees, herbs, shrubs, creeps, medicinal plants, ornamental plants, flowering, aromatic, perennial etc.
The authorities plan to put up details like the name, botanical name and other information of the plant. Every species will have details written/ printed on the nameplates/tags which will be put near every plant. The herbs and shrubs planted in the garden have been procured from various cities like Pune, Nasik, Vasai, and others.
The botanical garden is located in Thane East and is named after late Shiv Sena leader Dattaji Salvi. It is located off the Eastern Express Highway at Kopri Bara Bangla, near Vivekanand Nagar. It’s a joint initiative of the TMC and the forest department.

Photo Walk Schedule
1. Gather at Dattaji Salvi Park @ 7:30 am
2. Round of introduction session.
3. Explore the park till 9:30 am
4. Bid adieu and return to respective destinations.
Things to Carry:
1. 1-2 Ltrs Water (MUST)
2. Umbrella / Windcheater (MUST)
3. Camera (Optional - Capture the moments in your Heart !!!)
Cost
All expenses will be done as per they arise, by individual members, This event is for Photography and fun.

- All our Photo-walks are Eco-friendly, kindly take care of nature around us.
- Smoking and Drinking alcohol during, Photo-walk is strictly prohibited if anyone found doing that will be expelled from Photo-walk without refund.
- Respect for the Heritage and culture. Do Not Litter, Participants are requested to carry the waste back to the city and dispose of it in dustbins.
- Leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
- Moments Shoot is not liable in any way whatsoever for any injury or loss (including any indirect or consequential loss) of any kind to person or property suffered by any participant whether by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent.
