Chinchpokli & Parel Ganesh Idol Workshop

The colorful Mumbai Ganesh idols, which are displayed all over the city during the annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival, are an awe-inspiring sight. It's natural to wonder about how they're made and the amount of work that's gone into creating them. If you're interested in finding out, it's possible to see the statues being crafted. 

The skill is handed down from generation to generation, plus many migrants also come to Mumbai to help in the labor intensive process. It gets underway around three months before the festival takes place. The best time to see the action is in the few weeks leading up to the start of the festival, as this is when the finishing touches are put on the idols.

Photo Walk Schedule:
- Gather at Chinchpokli Station east @ 9:30 am
- Have breakfast (People can directly join at 10:15 am @ Chinchpokli if they are skipping the breakfast)
- Explore the work shops in Chinchpokli and experience the Ganesh Idol makings.
- Move towards Parel Workshop by public transport.
- Explore the work shops in Parel and experience the Ganesh Idol makings.
- Bid adieu and return to respective destinations.

Things to Carry:
- 1-2 Ltrs Water
- Camera (Optional - Capture the moments in your Heart !!!)
- Cap

All expenses will be done as per they arise, by individual members, This event is for Photography and fun.

- All our Photo-walk's are Eco-friendly, kindly take care of nature around us. 
- Smoking and Drinking alcohol during, Photo-walk is strictly prohibited if anyone found doing that will be expelled from Photo-walk without refund.
- Respect the Heritage and culture. Do Not Litter, Participants are requested to carry the waste back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins.
- Leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
